In Tibet Yak is a very important animal. They are used as packing animals for nomadic tribes and to honor their passing they are used in the Buddhism practise. Some will say its unorthodox to use the bone of an animal especially because in Buddhism all life is cherished and Buddhists do not eat meat but from a different perspective the bone here has a significant meaning. In Buddhism bone reminds us of the impenitence of death and that each moment in life should be cherished.
