How Do Incense Bricks Work?

Unlike an incense stick, you don't light the incense brick.

Current Aromafume products are designed to be placed on the upper heating plate of a compatible diffuser, with a tealight underneath providing the heat. As the brick warms, its fragrance is gradually released.

Always follow the instructions supplied with the individual burner and incense bricks, particularly if you're using a different design or brand.

Choosing an Incense Brick Burner

The burner matters just as much as the fragrance.

A purpose-designed incense brick burner positions the aromatic brick above the heat source so it can warm effectively without being directly burned.

Some burners are decorative as well as practical, turning the diffuser into part of your room rather than something that needs to be hidden away once you've finished using it.

Using Incense Bricks Safely

A brick may not be directly burning, but the burner still uses heat and, in current Aromafume designs, a lit tealight.

Sudden temperature changes can damage some materials, and water should never be introduced around a burning tealight.

Once everything is cool, remove any remaining fragrance residue according to the instructions for the particular burner.
