Flower of Life Gong. A gong is a percussion instrument formed from a circular metal disc. Gongs are striked with a mallet. Gongs are a key instrument in the traditional music of China, Burma, and Indonesia, Nepal and they have been a part of Western musical culture since at least the 1700s.

A gong is used to stimulate an altered state of consciousness it can boost creativity, feeling of wellness, it can offer relaxation and emotional release. Gongs are also used as a type of bell to start or finish a ceremony clearing energy.

According to tradition, the seven metals correspond with each of the planets, gold for the Sun, silver for the Moon, mercury for well, Mercury, copper for Venus, iron for Mars, tin for Jupiter, & lead for Saturn.
