The Maneki-Neko (beckoning lucky cat)
The Maneki-neko In Japanese litrally means ” Beckoning Cat” commonly also known as the “Lucky waving cat” its not actually waving. In Japan the way to beckon (call) someone over you is palm forward, and fingers pointing down.Â
Maneki-Neko has been bringing luck and prosperity for centuries with its raised moving paw, pointy red ears and other accessories. Inside the cat there is a script with luck beckoning lyrics and several self-filled out creative and catchy phrases ‘lable paper’.
Usually the Maneki Neko is placed on the counter at the entrance of a busisness. The cat has a mechanical paw which slowly moves back in forth inviting customers, luck and prosperity.Â
