The sphere rests above a detailed metal dragon head, creating the impression of a dragon guarding a captured ember at the very top of the staff.

Carefully layered Selenite sits beneath the dragon, introducing a dramatic contrast between the dark fiery Carnelian, metallic detailing and pale crystal.

Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, part of the quartz family, and is best known for colours ranging from orange and rusty red through to deeper reddish-brown tones. Natural mineral variation can produce fascinating patterns and differences between individual pieces — and this darker sphere has a character very much its own.
